Black Oak Wind Farm

Black Oak Wind, LLC
Tompkns County, New York

The Black Oak Wind Farm, located in the rural Town of Enfield, is the first community-owned utility-scale wind energy project in New York State. The project is sited on approximately 900 acres of privately-owned agricultural and idle land and will include 7 wind turbines with a total generating capacity of 11.9 megawatts. EDR is proud to have supported this unique project by serving as the lead environmental permitting consultant for the New York State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) process, including preparation of Draft and Final Environmental Impact Statements. Our services included assistance with project layout and siting, wetland delineation, state and federal wetland permitting, ecological surveys, historic resources impact analysis, regulatory agency consultation, and public outreach support. The SEQRA documents are available for review at the Black Oak Wind Project Website.
