EDR is pleased to congratulate Tioga County on the recent approval of their Agricultural and Farmland Protection Plan Update! The plan has been reviewed and approved by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, which recognized the plan’s potential to support the viability of the county’s agricultural sector. EDR’s Planning staff have worked alongside county staff and a dedicated group of committee members to draft a plan that focuses on strengthening essential agricultural support organizations, prioritizing agricultural land uses within the floodplain, and increasing public awareness of agricultural practices and the food system. We are sure that these team members will champion some excellent projects as the county moves from the planning stage into implementation!
