Cultural Resources Project Manager

EDR is seeking a mid-to-senior level cultural resources professional for a Project Manager role to join our Cultural Resources Division.  Candidates with technical expertise in either Archaeology or Architectural History/Historic Preservation will be considered.  This role would support our Midwest Practice Area team, based in Columbus, Ohio, whose work focuses on environmental permitting (including cultural resources) for energy generation and transmission projects, typically in support of Ohio Power Siting Board applications and/or project review under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act.

The successful candidate must have strong leadership skills, work well with other disciplines in a team environment, be able to negotiate multiple concurrent projects, and demonstrate the following core skills/competencies:

  • Must meet the minimum qualifications specified in Secretary of the Interior’s Standards and Guidelines for Archaeology and Historic Preservation (36 CFR Part 61), including a minimum MA/MS degree in anthropology, history, archaeology, preservation planning, or related field
  • At least 5 years of experience managing and directing cultural resources investigations in Ohio
  • Experience and relationships working with the Ohio Historic Preservation Office
  • Strong technical writing skills and demonstrated ability to prepare cultural resources reports
  • Strong technical expertise in archaeology, history, architectural history, and/or historic preservation
  • Demonstrated understanding of federal and state regulatory processes (e.g., NEPA, Section 106, OAC)

  • Serving as the primary point of contact with clients; and the ability to solve unexpected problems
