
EDR, a multi-disciplinary, woman-owned firm, is seeking a skilled Civil Engineering Project and/or Senior Project Manager – Site-Civil to join our growing Engineering Team in our Syracuse or Rochester, NY offices. This role requires a Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with at least 10 years of experience in site development, water and sewer infrastructure, stormwater management, and environmental permitting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in site planning, grading, utility design, and regulatory approvals, along with excellent project management and client engagement skills in the areas of utility infrastructure, parks/recreational, commercial, industrial site design, K-12, colleges & universities, utility transmission, wind, battery storage and solar renewable energy, transportation infrastructure and flood control.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management & Leadership:
- Manage site-civil engineering projects from planning and design through permitting and construction.
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams, coordinating with engineers, surveyors, and environmental scientists.
- Serve as the primary client contact, ensuring project goals, budgets, and schedules are met.
- Mentor engineers, providing technical guidance and professional development.
- Site-Civil Design & Engineering:
- Develop site layout, grading, and utility plans for residential, commercial, and industrial developments.
- Design stormwater management systems (SWPPP), watermain and sanitary sewer extensions, roadways, and pedestrian access features.
- Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, flood control analysis, and erosion control planning.
- Prepare construction documents, technical reports, and permit applications.
- Regulatory Compliance & Permitting:
- Secure municipal, state, and federal permits, including SEQRA, NYSDEC, USACE, and local health departments.
- Prepare and coordinate approvals for wetland disturbance, highway work permits, and environmental impact assessments.
- Work closely with municipal planning boards, regulatory agencies, and utility companies to ensure project compliance.
- Business Development & Client Engagement:
- Support business growth by identifying new site development opportunities and contributing to proposals.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, attending meetings, presentations, and industry events.
- Represent EDR at municipal hearings, conferences, and professional organizations.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required.
- At least 10 years of site-civil engineering experience
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and other civil engineering software.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, and deadlines.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and client management skills.
The anticipated base pay range of $115,000-$125,000 per year is commensurate with experience. EDR reserves the right to pay outside of the target range based on an individual’s education, credentials, skill level and relevant experience, as well as internal pay equity, geographic location, and business needs.
