EDR is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Syracuse, NY office. This position supports the planning, design, and construction phases of civil and water resources engineering projects. You’ll be an integral member of multi-disciplinary teams and work collaboratively with project managers, principals, and other practice areas. The ideal candidate is technically strong, detail-oriented, and motivated to grow into expanded engineering and project leadership responsibilities.
The Project Engineer will work on a variety of projects contributing to the preparation of engineering designs, construction documents, reports, calculations, and technical specifications while ensuring compliance with EDR, client, and agency standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare engineering designs, construction drawings, reports, calculations, and technical specifications.
- Support project managers with schedules, scopes, budgets, and coordination tasks.
- Collaborate with engineers, landscape architects, planners, environmental scientists, GIS staff, and other disciplines.
- Ensure work products meet EDR quality standards, client expectations, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform QA/QC reviews of drawings, calculations, and design intent prior to submission.
- Assist with coordination of project staff, technicians, and administrative support.
- Communicate with municipal officials, regulatory agencies, and project partners.
- Participate in project meetings and present technical components of assignments.
- Support proposal development and engineering marketing efforts.
- Maintain working knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and design systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or Environmental Engineering.
- 5-8 years of related professional engineering experience.
- Progress toward or ability to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
- Understanding of engineering ethics, design and regulatory standards, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Collaborative mindset with interest in developing leadership skills.
- Dependable, adaptable, and proactive approach to project work.
The anticipated base pay range of $85,000 – 100,000 per year is commensurate with experience. EDR reserves the right to pay outside of the target range based on an individual’s education, credentials, skill level and relevant experience, as well as internal pay equity, geographic location, and business needs.
