Senior Environmental Scientist

EDR is seeking versatile, team-oriented Senior Scientists to join our successful Environmental Practice Group. The well-qualified Senior Environmental Scientist candidate will have 10+ years of experience in scientific research, environmental resource studies, impact analysis, and permitting with strong writing, verbal communication, and problem-solving skills. This position requires demonstrated successful experience leading the preparation of permitting documents that comply with the regulatory requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the New York State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA), Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) Renewable Energy Program Regulations (30 CFR 585), or other state and federal environmental regulations. Intellectual curiosity is a must for thriving in this position.  The position requires a minimum BS/BA degree (MS/MA degree preferred) in environmental studies/sciences, marine affairs, natural resources, biology, ecology, or related field. Demonstrated competence in leading technical studies and authoring scientific reports is required. Subject matter expertise in technical areas pertinent to offshore renewable energy is highly desired. Preference will be given to candidates with current or recent consulting experience in the renewable energy sector, particularly offshore wind energy.
