Cassadaga Wind: The First Article 10 Application Approved in New York State

EDR is excited to announce the approval of the first ever Application for a Certificate of Environmental Compatibility and Public Need under Article 10 of the NYS Public Service Law.

Everpower Wind Holdings is developing the Cassadaga Wind Farm, which will include up to 48 wind turbines generating 126 megawatts of electricity.  The project is located in the Towns of Cherry Creek, Charlotte, Stockton, and Arkwright in Chautauqua County, New York and will interconnect to the state’s electrical grid along the Dunkirk-Moon 115-kV transmission line.

The Article 10 Application for the Cassadaga Wind Project was approved by the New York State Board on Electric Generation Siting and the Environment (Siting Board) on January 17, 2018. EDR managed the preparation of the Article 10 Application, along with environmental and engineering support services, including the Preliminary Design Drawings, Shadow Flicker Report, Cultural Resources Studies, Invasive Species Control Plan, Preliminary Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP), Preliminary Spill Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plan, Wetland Delineation Report, Visual Impact Assessment, and a Socioeconomic Report.
