EDR Assists the Jamestown Downtown Revitalization Initiative with $10M Transformation

EDR is honored to have been a part of the consultant team assisting the City of Jamestown with creating the Strategic Investment Plan under New York State’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI). Once the plan is submitted, state officials will analyze the 12 projects in Jamestown’s DRI plan to determine the projects that will be selected for funding and how much will be allocated towards each project to be invested in downtown Jamestown.

The team of consultants worked with the Jamestown DRI Local Planning Committee to identify strategic projects intended to revitalize downtown Jamestown. Many projects were identified through planning studies and previous stakeholder outreach initiatives conducted by the City. Projects include mixed-use redevelopment and adaptive re-use of existing buildings, streetscape and pedestrian improvements, and enhanced recreational activities along the Chadakoin River. EDR’s role focused on projects designed to improve visitor experience and development opportunities along the City’s Riverwalk including illumination of waterfront features, installation of kayak and canoe launch facilities, and funding for acquisition of a strategic property for redevelopment along the waterfront.
