EDR Congratulates Onondaga County WEP for CNY APWA Structures Project Award

EDR congratulates the Onondaga County Department of Water Environment Protection (WEP) for being honored with an American Public Works Association (APWA) 2025 Structures Project of the Year Award for the Davis Road Pump Station improvements. This award recognizes WEP’s commitment to strengthening critical water infrastructure and investing in long-term service reliability for its communities.

EDR is proud to have supported this award-winning effort through our Engineering practice, providing comprehensive design, permitting, and technical support for the pump station upgrades. Our team collaborated closely with WEP staff and project partners to develop a solution-focused design that modernizes the facility while working within the existing site footprint. EDR’s engineering approach emphasized constructability, asset durability, operational flexibility, and safety for maintenance personnel.

The Davis Road Pump Station serves as a key component of the County’s wastewater collection and conveyance system. The project addressed aging infrastructure, improved operational efficiency, and updated system resiliency. Enhancements help ensure safe, reliable, and sustainable wastewater management for the surrounding communities, supporting both environmental protection and public health.

This project reflects EDR’s dedication to delivering technical solutions that support stronger, more resilient communities. We are honored to have played a role in advancing this important public infrastructure project, and we congratulate the entire project team on this achievement.
