EDR’s Marchner and Knight obtain Professional Wetland Scientist Certification

EDR is pleased to congratulate Joshua Marchner, Environmental Field Services Manager, and Joseph Knight, Ecological Resource Specialist, on successfully obtaining their Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) certification through the Society of Wetland Scientists Professional Certification Program. 

PWS certifications are awarded to individuals who meet educational requirements and attain specific professional experience. Qualified individuals must obtain at least five years of relevant professional work experience and demonstrate technical knowledge ofs wetland resources, regulations, and/or related programs and activities. 

Marchner has over seven years of experience conducting and leading wetland delineations and a variety of ecological field studies, such as invasive species surveys, winter raptor surveys, and freshwater mussel surveys. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science & Ecology from SUNY Brockport and a Military Weather & Oceanography Analysis background from the United States Navy. 

Knight has over six years of experience conducting and leading wetland and stream delineations, as well as a variety of ecological field studies such as invasive species surveys. He is also proficient in GIS analysis and maintaining web maps to support wetland delineation and other field surveys. Knight holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Ecology from SUNY Brockport.
