Arkwright Summit Wind Farm

EDP Renewables
Chautauqua County, New York

The Arkwright Summit Wind Farm is a renewable energy project that includes 36 wind turbines in the Town of Arkwright, a rural community in western New York State. The project will produce 78 megawatts (MW) of clean, renewable energy, which is enough electricity to power approximately 31,500 households. EDR served as the lead environmental consultant to assist EDP Renewables to conclude the review of the project under the New York State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) as well as wetland permitting with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. Our services have included preparation of a Second Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS2), a supplement to the local Special Use Permit, a Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS), Joint Application for Permit (for wetland permitting), wetland mitigation design, shadow flicker analysis, supplemental visual resources assessment, and cultural resources (archaeological and historic sites) analyses.
