Central New York Philanthrophy Center

Syracuse, New York

The Central New York Philanthropy Center is home to the Central New York Community Foundation. This downtown landmark (and former home of the University Club) is located on Fayette Street across Firefighters Memorial Park. It serves as a collaboration center for charitable organizations in the region. The historic building was renovated to achieve a LEED™ Silver certification. The downtown streetscape frontage, building entrance and parking lot were updated utilizing sustainable practices with green infrastructure funding provided by Onondaga County’s Save the Rain program. Green infrastructure improvements at the site included pervious pavements, a rain garden, and native plantings.

The American Institute of Architects recognized this project with a Citation for Design in Historic Preservation/Adaptive Reuse.
