EDR Team provided comprehensive planning services to the Syracuse-Onondaga County Planning Agency to update the County’s Comprehensive Plan, PLAN ONondaga.
Onondaga County, with a population of just over 450,000 residents, has a diverse array of communities and development forms. These span very urban Downtown Syracuse to traditional villages, suburban enclaves, and very rural communities. Initial scoping and outreach for the planning process has focused an overall community objective to create an environment for economic growth and increased quality of life in Onondaga County, through community investments in the form of placemaking, innovative, connectivity, and inclusion.
Development of this plan relies on extensive outreach and engagement, data, and trends; and to develop visual illustration of planning principles. Recent research, planning and policy analysis by the County and regional planning partners will be incorporated into the updated plan.
