Following the lead of an architectural design that infused nature into every aspect of the building’s details, EDR’s 2011 landscape design for this world-class, cutting edge facility also focused on sustainability, resource conservation and eco-friendly materials. The design includes a four-season healing garden and a 7,000 square foot green roof. The green roof prevents 211,000 gallons of stormwater from entering the sewer system. Portions of the garden and green roof spaces are accessible and also visible to patient treatment areas, providing a positive natural distraction to patients, families and staff. LEED™ Silver Certification is being pursued from the U.S. Green Building Council.
