In 2015, EDR provided site planning, design, and engineering services to support development of the new Onondaga County-owned 12,000-seat multi-purpose stadium (Alliance Bank Stadium) which was used to house a Triple-A Minor League baseball team of the Toronto Blue Jays, the Syracuse Sky Chiefs. Site improvements accommodated a new parking lot for 3,500 cars, a new public entry/reception and break-out area, and a new vehicular/pedestrian circulation system. EDR also provided detailed design, contract documents, and construction oversight for the project.

In 2019, EDR was once again contracted by Onondaga County to provide site planning, design, municipal engineering, and environmental consulting services to support the Lead Sports Facility Architect in development of a major $25M upgrade to the existing minor league baseball facility, NBT Bank Stadium. The purpose of this project was to ensure that these facilities satisfied new MLB Standards, and that the current owners of the Triple-A Farm Team, the Syracuse Mets of the International League, affiliated with the New York Mets, remain in Syracuse for the long term.

Construction continued on the ballpark during the Pandemic.  Site improvements included building out the front entrance and landscaping the area, full new field turf grass installation, new LED lighting, parking improvements, watermain replacement and relocation, and stormwater management incorporating Onondaga County Save the Rain guidelines.

“The fans will be wowed,” said Archie Wixson, Jr., Commissioner of the Department of Facilities Management for Onondaga County
