This property on picturesque Skaneateles Lake was redeveloped for a young, active family in 2008. Our design features a serpentine drive that negotiates a sloping site with retaining walls and planted slopes. The estate features include a waterfront kitchen, docks, beachfront with fire pit, children’s play area, formal terraces and stairs, auto court, tennis court, pergola seating area and many ornamental gardens associated with the house, barn and outdoor spaces. The plant selection is extensive and diverse in color and texture. Many existing large trees were preserved to maintain the established feel. The owner’s ideas were instrumental in the wonderful character that was achieved for this estate, and incorporated into a management manual that EDR prepared for the ongoing maintenance of the landscape.
