Archaeological Monitor (New York State)

EDR is seeking experienced, team-oriented Archaeological Monitors with experience/interest in conducting archaeological monitoring, machine-aided archaeology, and survey fieldwork. Primary responsibilities will include archaeological monitoring and technical reporting during construction of large transportation and infrastructure projects.

This role will be a temporary, long-term hourly position with potential for full-time and preference will be given to candidates in the Syracuse and Long Island (New York State) geographic areas or for candidates interested in relocating to those areas.

Archaeological Monitors report to the Principal for Cultural Resources via the Archaeology Services Leader and Field Supervisors.

Essential Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- BA (or graduate degree) in Anthropology, Archaeology, or related field.
- Prior experience conducting archaeological fieldwork. Preference will be given to those candidates who have prior experience in archaeological monitoring and/or machine-aided excavation (i.e., Phase II/III urban archaeology investigations).
- Strong technical writing skills and ability to prepare daily construction monitoring reports (or similar).
- A positive attitude, enthusiasm for teamwork, and appreciation for both the challenges and benefits of working in a dynamic outdoor field environment.
- Working knowledge of GIS and GPS technology, mapping, analysis, and data processing.
- Ability to travel (locally and out of state when required Note that this position is anticipated to be primarily focused on local work in both Syracuse and Long Island (NY); however, occasional support for other projects requiring travel may be necessary).
- Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions, possibly for extended hours (over 8), in a road construction setting.
- The ability to carry equipment (shovel, screen, and GPS unit) while conducting fieldwork.
The anticipated base pay range of $22-23 per hour is commensurate with experience. EDR is seeking experienced, team-oriented Field Archaeologists with demonstrated expertise to provide support to the EDR Cultural Resources practice area by assisting with archaeological fieldwork, laboratory analysis and/or office work. Reports to the Principal for Cultural Resources via the Archaeology Services Leader and Field Supervisors. This role would be an hourly position (March through December, weather dependent) based in the Northeastern United States.

Field Archaeologists provide support for field investigations, and in some instances, associated laboratory and/or office work. EDR’s Field Archaeologists include seasonal and temporary employees (i.e., employed on a per project basis) and report to the Principal for Cultural Resources via the Archaeology Services Leader and Field Supervisors.

Schedule and Compensation
- Schedule: Monday through Friday; 8-hour days (40 hours weekly, off Saturday and Sunday; our typical schedule may need to be adjusted to meet specific project demands, although that is unusual).
- Compensation: $20-$23 per hour, based on experience and work history; overtime paid for hours worked above 40.
- Lodging: Single occupancy hotel room; hotel rooms can be provided over weekends for non local staff.
- Per Diem: Dependent on individual project requirements but typically $50 non-receipt per diem on workdays.
- Safety: All employees will adhere to EDR’s standard health & safety procedures and employment

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical, civil, process, and automation engineers to understand project objectives, critical success factors, and to develop drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Refine your professional skills under the mentorship and direction of seasoned mechanical engineering professionals.
- Perform HVAC load calculations, ductwork, pipe sizing, and any other calculations required to support the mechanical design.

Qualifications:

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare design documentation (specifications, construction drawings, cost estimates) and basis of design reports to support the construction of new electrical systems.
- Work within AutoCAD and Revit to develop detailed electrical design documents to identify equipment mounting locations, power and controls one-line diagrams, elementary wiring diagrams, panel schedules, etc.
- Development of power studies including system modeling and written reports for load flow analysis, short circuit, coordination and arc flash studies.
- Work from the Syracuse, NY or White Plains, NY office and collaborate with distributed teams. An estimated 15% of regional travel may be expected to perform site reconnaissance, witness of electrical tests and demonstrations, and to evaluate conformance with design documents.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 7-10 years of related experience.
- Ability and personal interest in obtaining EIT certification and Professional Engineering license.
- Possess a solid understanding of NFPA 70 and other electrical industry codes, local codes, and industry standards.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
- Working knowledge of SKM Power Tools is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving, reasoning, and analytical skills with a detail-oriented mindset.

To that end, our visualization team is seeking a highly motivated, competent, full-time Senior Project Manager to join our Visualization Services Group in our Syracuse, New York office. Remote work options can also be considered for qualified candidates.

Our Visual Impact Assessment (VIA) projects have gained national attention, and we are considered one of the leading VIA practitioners in the United States. Much of our visualization practice supports the renewable energy market, including offshore wind energy projects and land-based wind and solar energy projects. The Senior Project Manager will coordinate, supervise, and manage projects from proposal stage to completion with the support of internal staff. The successful candidate will have experience conducting and managing visual assessment projects, which may include:
- Practical and technical knowledge in visual resource inventory and assessment with a minimum of 7 years of related job experience in visualization, planning, environmental science, landscape architecture, or other related fields applicable to visual impact assessment.
- A thorough knowledge and understanding of GIS and the simulations process is considered a plus.
- Experience in NHSEC, NPS, USFS FHWA, NYSDEC, CalDOT, BOEM, BLM, and/or ACOE visual assessment requirements/guidance.
- Experience managing budgets, staff, and clients internally and externally.
- Experience of project accounting, contracts, budgets, and change management.
- Strong business development skills and deep experience with client relations.
- Strong organizational, writing, and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work effectively and collaboratively in a team setting.
The anticipated base pay range of $85,000-$120,000 per year is commensurate with experience. EDR reserves the right to pay outside of the target range based on an individual’s education, credentials, skill level and relevant experience, as well as internal pay equity, geographic location, and business needs.

EDR is seeking an experienced Marketing Proposal Lead to orchestrate the firm’s marketing initiatives, sales management, new business development, and customer service endeavors. This role will be based in our Columbus, OH office with remote work options considered for qualified candidates.

This role demands a seasoned professional adept in client relations, market research, and advanced proposal preparation, possessing a profound grasp of current Architectural, Engineering and Construction (A/E/C) industry marketing trends.

Reporting to the Executive Manager of Communications & Marketing and collaborating closely with Principals, the Lead spearheads external relationship cultivation to convert opportunities into revenue streams for the firm. They will take charge of proposal development, ensuring proposals are compelling, client-centric, and aligned with EDR’s brand. They will manage proposal timelines and data to enhance quality and effectiveness.

Education/Previous Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Business Development, Marketing, or a related field.
- Five-plus years of experience in business development, marketing, or related roles, ideally within the professional services industry.
- Prior experience in one or more of EDR’s target market sectors is advantageous.
Knowledge and Skills Needed:
- Familiarity with A/E/C industry terminology, marketing databases, and proposal management tools.
- Proficiency in technical writing, editing, proofreading, and layout design.
- Track record in developing and executing business development strategies and targeted marketing campaigns.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management abilities.
- Willingness to travel locally and out of state, including attending evening meetings and overnight stays as necessary.
